All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.\nCategory\nInformation Technology\nDescription\nEdgesource Corporation is seeking a Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our project team in Washington, DC to monitor and maintain SQL Server databases that support our government client.\nCandidate will be ask to perform the following duties:\nMonitor and proactively maintain a multi-server environment consisting of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 servers on both Windows 2003 and 2008 platforms in production, staging and laboratory environments\nAssist with certification and accreditation as well as security remediation for various business applications with a focus on database related tasks\nDevelop and implement improved processes for server maintenance, back-up and recovery, fail-over and clustering\nMeet with both internal and external teams to gather requirements for upcoming database needs, implementation of those requirements, testing and monitoring for specific functional and performance targets\nMaintain documentation for maintenance processes, server configurations (both how to configure and current configurations)\nSupports data calls and specific applications as needed from both the database and application server standpoint\n\nPosition Requirements\nCandidate must have experience with the following:\n2-3 years of SQL Server database administration, performance tuning, clustering and security\nCreate/maintain SSIS packages\nTroubleshoot client/server, linked server connections\nImplement Transparent Data Encryption\nAssist with application account resets\nGenerate monthly COLA revenue report\nDatabase/datacenter migrations\nRestorations via SMSQL for SnapManager or NetApp SnapDrive\nDatabase performance tuning – work with developers to improve SQL procedures\nExperience with securing systems to specifications for information assurance\nDemonstrated experience promoting process improvement, tactical problem solving, and presenting technical information.\nDedication to quality, solid interpersonal communication skills, willingness to learn and wear many hats to resolve situations facing the team.\nExperience with T-SQL, .NET, logical/physical modeling is a plus.\nMCDBA Certification a plus\n1-2 years of server administration, server virtualization and Active Directory/Global Policy a plus.\n\nAdditional Requirements i.e. travel:\nDress code – business attire\nNo travel is anticipated\nCustomer service ethic is required\nMust be punctual and able to work Monday through Friday between the core hours of 6 a.m. to 6.p.m.\n\nFull-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time\nShift: First\nPosition: Database Administrator\nNumber of Openings: 1\n\nReq Number: INF-20-00008\n\nOpen Date: 5/5/2020\n\nLocation: Department of State- Bureau of Administration\n\nAbout the Organization: Edgesource Corporation is a leading small business providing information technology and business consulting services to the federal government.
