Duties typically include coordinating maintenance schedules, ensuring the security and uptime of servers, handling equipment inventory, supporting IT staff with troubleshooting and installations, enforcing data center policies, managing vendor relationships, and monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature and power usage.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nFacility Operations: Monitor critical environmental parameters such as data center IT equipment condition, aging, issues and response coordination.\r\nVendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external contractors, service providers, and vendors; schedule service visits and supervise on-site work.\r\nInventory & Asset Management: Track, receive, and document hardware, servers, cables, and spare parts; maintain accurate logs of all equipment in the data center.\r\nSecurity & Access Control: Enforce physical security policies, manage badge access for personnel, and monitor surveillance or entry logs.\r\nIncident Management: Serve as a first responder for facility alarms, hardware failures, or network disruptions; coordinate with IT and mechanical teams to quickly mitigate downtime.\r\nProject Management: Attend scheduled calls, determine project requirements, order materials, review cabling diagrams, coordinate power requirements and installation, assign in-house work, track project status, and report concerns.\r\nWork Assignment: Review and distribute in-house assignments.\r\nEssential Qualifications\r\nEducation: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).\r\nExperience: 2–5 years of experience in data center operations, IT support, or critical facilities management.\r\nHard Skills: Working knowledge of IT hardware, data center physical layer cabling, and Building Management Systems (BMS).\r\nSoft Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities; strong verbal and written communication skills for vendors, technicians, and stakeholders.\r\nCertifications: CompTIA Server+, Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), or Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) are valued but not essential.\r\nWork Environment & Physical Demands\r\nRequires schedule flexibility, including 24×7 on-call rotations or shift work to ensure continuous coverage.\r\nMay require lifting heavy IT equipment, working in raised-floor environments, and navigating areas with high noise and varying temperatures.\r\nLocation: On-site – Hartland, WI\r\nThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
