As a software developer focusing on autonomous large mining trucks, you'll collaborate with team members to develop new autonomous truck models and features that provide critical value to our customers. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can't wait for you to join the team!!What you will do:The Command for Hauling Developers will participate in various aspects of the development process including design, documentation, coding, product quality, and validationDevelop production quality C++ softwareSupport requirements generation and architecture decisions and tradeoffsSupport functional safety software design and validation processCollaborate with team members to execute on goalsWhat you will have:Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Ability to execute projects and optimize development strategies based on a large repository of dataSoftware Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace. Strong understanding of software engineering principles.Programming: Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools; ability to test, write, design, debug, troubleshoot and maintain source codes and computer programs.Top candidates will have:Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or PhD in an accredited Robotics, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degreeSkilled at programming in C++ Familiarization with core robotics principlesStrong foundation in mathematics and engineering fundamentalsAdditional Details:This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Irving, TX office.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.This position may require travel up to 10%#LISummary Pay Range:$112,710.00 - $183,140.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
