This team is responsible for deploying and supporting one of the world s largest and complex networks. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of networking at Customer.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDeploy, configure, and support a large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure in data centers and Point of Presence (POP) sites across many regions.\r\nCalculate and document equipment power requirements and work with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and/or collocation vendors to meet these requirements.\r\nManage project timelines to support network turn-up within expected completion intervals.\r\nResponsible for asset management of networking gear in datacenter and POP sites\r\nProactively contribute to documentation, automation and processes as they evolve\r\nCreate network and server rack face elevations, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and detailed port maps for new deployments and documentation.\r\nCreate statements of work for vendors at the POP sites.\r\nCreate cage and rack designs and understand the overall needs of POP infrastructure.\r\nDocument and follow RMA processes and procedures for all relevant vendors.\r\nFollow, improve, and implement data center and POP best practices\r\nProvide necessary escalations to higher support tier; assist Sales and Customer Support with technical operations, and work with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction\r\nWork closely with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors as new equipment and technologies are integrated into the production network.\r\nUse internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair servers and network equipment\r\nDetect and diagnose various error/failure conditions across an array of server types.\r\nRequirements\r\nExperience in data center deployment, building large-scale infrastructure, and providing support for Linux based servers and Network devices is a plus.\r\nKnowledge of Optical equipment, DWDM, etc.\r\nMust have an understanding of datacenter network architecture and common issues related to datacenter networks.\r\nKnowledgeable in Data center practices (i.e. cable routing, calculating power usage and cooling).\r\nCertification such as CCNA, JNCIA, RHCT or equivalent experience preferred.\r\nAbility to capture and analyze traffic.\r\nSolid understanding of Queue Management for tasks and incidents, vendor engagement and escalation and participation in ongoing POPs deployment projects\r\nDemonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and creative problem solving abilities under pressure\r\nUnderstanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.\r\nProficiency in Linux operating system\r\nExperience with IPv6 and familiarity with scripting languages is strongly desired\r\nJ-18808-Ljbffr","company":"Socket","rawCompany":"socket","city":"Santa Clara","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-08T01:53:11.577Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1244.00","title":"Network and Computer Systems Administrators","slug":"network-and-computer-systems-administrators"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"},{"code":"15-1231.00","title":"Computer Network Support Specialists","slug":"computer-network-support-specialists"}],"industries":[{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"},{"code":"541513","title":"Computer Facilities Management Services","slug":"computer-facilities-management-services"},{"code":"518210","title":"Computing Infrastructure Providers, Data Processing, Web Hosting, and Related Services","slug":"computing-infrastructure-providers-data-processing-web-hosting-and-related-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Network Engineer, Deployment & Support","description":"Role- Network Engineer, Deployment & Support\r\nLocation- Santa Clara, CA\r\nWe are looking for a Network Engineer to join the Edge and Network Services team.
