What You'll Do: As a Locum Nurse Practitioner, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Your responsibilities include conducting interview-based evaluations, physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, and completing detailed reports. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or similar fields, and requires no prescribing or treatment duties. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas Proven experience in general medicine or compensation and pension exams Strong interviewing and physical assessment skills Ability to work independently at designated locations Excellent communication and report-writing skills Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with VA or government-related medical assessments Certification in occupational health or related specialties Familiarity with telehealth or remote evaluation tools Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in family or internal medicine Previous experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams is advantageous Other Requirements: Candidates must own their own office space at the designated locations Ability to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling options (half days or full days) Willingness to undergo quick credentialing and onboarding process Local candidates only, with travel included in the compensation package No reimbursement for certifications or portal training prior to employment Compensation & Perks: Flat Rate for Half-Day (up to 4 hours): $402 Flat Rate for Full Day (5 hours or more): $804 One-time Bonus of $650 upon completing training and first exams Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick leave in accordance with applicable laws Additional reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other approved expenses 24/7 dedicated support team committed to your success Seize this exceptional opportunity to contribute to our veterans’ well-being while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive pay.
