The Carrier Procurement Rep. will use carrier analytics and other tools to guide negotiations and buying decisions to meet the transportation needs of our customers.\r\nEssential Functions Of The Role\r\nDevelop carrier relationships to effectively support our customers\r\nSend and Receive Rate Confirmations\r\nProvide rate feedback to Truckload Account Managers\r\nManage load postings, coordinate inbound and outbound calling to carriers\r\nSend BOL and ETA to Truckload Account Managers and Managed Account Managers\r\nCover all freight in assigned region and assist with overflow/PTO challenged shipments\r\nConduct consistent lane research daily and enter info obtained into the MCL Tool or future program that replaces MCL\r\nUtilize carrier analytics and other internal resources to make informed buying decisions\r\nMaintain and grow relationships with carrier accounts including conducting account reviews and identifying opportunities for additional collaboration\r\nResolve problems, including identifying issues, thinking critically to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions\r\nDaily contact with carriers to determine availability and negotiate transportation rates\r\nProvide consistent and exceptional service levels to contracted carriers and internal customers\r\nResearch new carriers in the marketplace, generate leads, develop new carrier relationships and assist with onboarding new carriers\r\nUnderstand the technology platform and drive automation\r\nLeverage technology to secure carriers for customer shipments\r\nStudy and understand market trends and seasonality\r\nAssist in claims process, collecting necessary documents and relaying appropriate information to Evans' Claim Department\r\nProvide tracking and tracing information throughout the life of the order as required by the customer through communication with the carrier\r\nAdhere to Evans' Five Guiding Principles, Policies, Procedures and Employee Handbook\r\nAll other duties that may be reasonably assigned, including special projects and cross-training in other departments\r\nQualifications/Requirements\r\nBachelor's degree preferred\r\nRelated experience\r\nStrong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others\r\nAbility to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results\r\nExcellent communication skills, verbal and written\r\nDriven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated\r\nAbility to build strong relationships\r\nStrong organization skills, prioritization skills, and works with a sense of urgency\r\nHigh attention to detail and ability to multitask\r\nExceptional customer service skills\r\nProven problem-solving and analytical skills\r\nExperience with transportation management systems, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook as well as the ability and willingness to learn new software\r\nSpeak and write in English fluently\r\nWork Environment\r\nThe typical work environment is fast-paced and moderately quiet. Regular use of office equipment is expected, including computer, fax machines, and telephone. Employees may be required to lift on occasion up to 10 pounds.
