Associate, Corporate DevelopmentSan Mateo, CA (Hybrid)PlayStation is a global leader in entertainment, producing the PlayStation series and related services. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Associate, Corporate Development. The Corporate Development Team works closely with SIE's management team to identify inorganic growth opportunities through acquisitions, investments or joint ventures. The team sources, evaluates and delivers transactions that align with SIE's strategic priorities and drive long‐term value for the company.The foundational work involves developing market insights through strong internal and external relationships to identify attractive M&A and investment opportunities. Opportunities are assessed based on rigorous investment criteria, and team members develop and drive internal alignment on strategic fit and post‐deal plans. The role offers executive exposure and the chance to influence the evolution of the media and technology industries.ResponsibilitiesWork with business units, strategy teams, and other internal partners to identify, evaluate, and complete strategic transactions for SIEProvide market insights to support strategy and M&A activitiesPrepare presentations outlining the strategic rationale for transactionsParticipate in cross‐functional due diligence processes and provide project management from due diligence through signing/closing and into integrationPresent to senior management for project approvalCollaborate closely with the post‐merger integration and operations team to ensure successful transaction outcomesBuild and maintain relationships with collaborators across SIE and other Sony businesses to facilitate discovery of opportunities and alignment on projectsSupport adjacent areas within the team, including but not limited to investor relations, capital markets, and strategy related projectsQualifications3–5 years of M&A experience (investment banking, private equity, or corporate development)Experience evaluating inorganic growth opportunities, including identifying key strategic themes and building financial models and presentationsStrategic, quantitative, and financial modeling skills, with the ability to structure M&A recommendations using data and valuation analysesExpert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPointData savvy with the ability to identify key value drivers and communicate actionable recommendationsExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and executive presenceAbility to multi‐task, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and rapidly change priorities based on business needsStrong team‐player orientationAbility to work with multiple cultures and tailor work style and messaging to function effectively across globally distributed teamsBA or equivalent experience requiredExperience working for a major video gaming or entertainment company is a plusBenefitsBase pay range: $133,000 — $199,400 USD.Includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program, and Sony product discounts.
