Perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or calibration of critical facilities and equipment requiring highly skilled and specialized knowledge. Performs work of an essentially repetitive nature requiring highly specialized skills for production of Draper's most complex deliverable hardware. Such work shall involve extremely complex manual tasks requiring high degrees of manual dexterity and attention to detail and/or the operation of complex automated or semi automated equipment requiring highly evolved production skills.\n\nJob Description:\n\nDuties/Responsibilities\n\nWith limited or no supervision, carefully documents their own work consistent with work unit policy in handwritten form or using common computer-based software.\n\nPerforms scientific experiments and/or tests with complex laboratory equipment independently or in collaboration with senior technical personnel.\n\nApplies analytic and test experience in the execution of acceptance procedures independently or in collaboration with senior technical personnel.\n\nPrograms computer controlled automated and semi-automated equipment.\n\nAt the discretion of the supervisor, performs focused training to grow and enhance skills for betterment of the department or the Laboratory as a whole.\n\nAs needed, mentor, train or supervise more junior technicians.\n\nOther temporary assignments at the discretion of the supervisor.\n\nSkills/Abilities\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Applications; MS Windows, Word, Excel etc.\n\nAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.\n\nPossess highly specialized skills for production for assigned work area.\n\nPossess a high degree of attention to detail.\n\nEducation\n\nRequires a minimum Associates Degree in engineering or science program, A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred.\n\nIn Lieu required college degree, a minimum of two years of technical schooling may be satisfied through one of the following.\n\nHigh school diploma or its equivalents, plus two years of technical schooling related to engineering or science.\n\nCompletion of Military Technical School\n\nExperience\n\nWhen education requirement is met, requires a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.\n\nWhen education requirements are not met, requires a minimum of 15 years' of relevant experience.\n\nAdditional Job Description:\n\nApplicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
