We are currently supporting a rapidly growing aerospace manufacturer in North Atlanta focused on small turbine engine development and production.SummaryThe Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as a key technical leader at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and test. This role supports strategic production growth initiatives while working closely with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Test teams.This position is highly visible and requires strong hands-on manufacturing expertise, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will help define manufacturing standards, improve production efficiency, and mentor engineering and operations staff in a fast-paced aerospace environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic input on lean manufacturing layouts optimized for assembly flow, labor efficiency, and throughputOwn segments of the manufacturing value chain across multiple aerospace productsDevelop and maintain standardized assembly work instructions with continuous improvement focusEstablish and track key manufacturing metrics including takt time, cycle time, yield, and throughputApply lean manufacturing and process improvement tools such as value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and visual management systemsLead manufacturing design initiatives from concept through validation, including tooling and fixture developmentSupport production builds, testing activities, and equipment operations directly on the manufacturing floorProvide technical guidance and training to assembly and test techniciansLead root cause and corrective action efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teamsPartner with Design Engineering to assess manufacturability and testability of new and existing productsCollaborate with Quality Engineering on PFMEA development, control plans, inspections, and compliance initiativesDrive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce build time, improve quality, and increase production outputSupport implementation and refinement of ERP, PLM, and MES systems as they relate to manufacturing executionEnsure adherence to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality and safety standardsMaintain strong shop floor presence and act as a technical resource for production teamsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in high-complexity or high-volume production environmentsStrong hands-on experience supporting hardware development and production processesExperience with ERP, PLM, and MES systemsKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience working in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 regulated environmentsStrong problem-solving skills with a bias for action and operational executionAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environmentStrong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and operations teamsMust be eligible to work in environments requiring access to export-controlled systems/tools in compliance with U.S. regulationsTRC Talent Solutions is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
