Provide direct supervision and care for a student with diabetes during bus transportation.2. Monitor the student for signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia.3. Follow the student's Diabetes Medical Management Plan and/or Individualized Health Plan (IHP) as directed by the school nurse.4. Administer diabetes-related care as trained and delegated by the school nurse (e.g., blood glucose monitoring, assistance with insulin administration, if applicable and authorized).5. Ensure emergency supplies (e.g., glucose tablets, snacks, glucagon if prescribed) are readily available and properly stored during transport.6. Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies, including implementing emergency protocols and contacting emergency services if needed.7. Maintain clear and timely communication with the school nurse, transportation department, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents.8. Document care provided and any notable incidents in accordance with district procedures.9. Maintain confidentiality of student health information in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.10. Assist the student with safe boarding and exiting of the bus as needed.11. Support a safe, calm, and positive environment for the student during transportation.12. Participate in required training related to diabetes care, emergency response, and student-specific needs13. Follow all district transportation policies and safety procedures.14.
