When you work for Texas Materials, you are helping to support and build the infrastructure of Texas.\n\nQC Lab Technician\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct routine quality control testing on aggregates, including gradation, moisture content, density, and specific gravity.\nPerform field testing at quarry and construction sites (e.g., compaction tests, sampling, and monitoring).\nCollect, label, and prepare material samples in accordance with established procedures.\nMaintain accurate records of test results, inspections, and daily reports.\nEnsure materials meet project specifications, DOT regulations, and company quality standards.\nCalibrate and maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment.\nCommunicate test results, discrepancies, and quality concerns to supervisors and operations teams.\nAssist with troubleshooting production issues related to material quality.\nFollow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies.\nSupport audits and inspections by regulatory agencies or clients.\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.\nEducation/Experience\nHigh school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred.\nPrevious related experience in the construction field.\n1–3 years of experience in construction materials testing, aggregates, or quality control in a quarry, asphalt, or concrete environment preferred.\nBasic understanding of construction materials and testing procedures.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data entry systems.\nValid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.\nKnowledge/Skill Requirements\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.\nAbility to follow standardized testing procedures and protocols.\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\nProblem-solving and analytical thinking.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nWork Requirements\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nMust pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.\nStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.\nAbility to follow standardized testing procedures and protocols.\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\nProblem-solving and analytical thinking.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong organizational and time management skills\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
