Payroll Clerk

Overview We are a well-established, family-owned construction company headquartered in Louisville, KY, with projects and operations across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk with a strong background in construction payroll, including certified payroll, high-volume processing, and compliance-driven environments.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess high-volume, weekly payroll for multi-state construction projectsPrepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and prevailing wage regulations (e.g., Davis-Bacon)Perform payroll audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper classification of employeesManage billing support related to labor costs, job costing, and project reportingMaintain accurate payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, and fringe benefitsCollaborate with project managers and accounting teams to reconcile payroll discrepanciesEnsure compliance with all applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and union requirements (if applicable)Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and reportingQualifications3+ years of construction payroll experience (required)Demonstrated experience with certified payroll reporting (required)Strong understanding of prevailing wage laws and compliance requirementsExperience processing high-volume, weekly payroll across multiple statesBackground in payroll auditing and reconciliationFamiliarity with billing and job costing processesProficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft ExcelHigh attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience working in a national or multi-state construction companyKnowledge of union payroll and reporting requirementsFamiliarity with accounting systems and ERP platformsWhat We OfferStable, long-term opportunity with a growing national companySupportive, family-oriented work cultureCompetitive compensation based on experienceComprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, PTO, etc.)
