We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.Job SummaryJob ResponsibilitiesResponsible for assisting with quality system development and supporting product quality improvementsDevelop, maintain and deploy quality plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activitiesAbility to work independently under supervision of othersPerform analyses of program requirements and prepare responsive quality plans, procedures, schedules and resource allocations to assure optimum quality supportReview and approve engineering/test and contractor documentation and provide input to assure that appropriate quality requirements are addressedGather, organize, monitor, analyze and report on information on products and processesProvide ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits, ensuring implementation of root cause corrective actionsParticipate on product quality improvement teams, Material Review Boards and Failure Review BoardsEvaluate and dispose of non-conforming materialProvide technical support for Assembly/Test/Inspection personnel to include executing workmanship improvement plans, developing inspection methods and criteria, specifying appropriate sampling plans, interpreting and revising specifications, and processing non-conforming materialsAssist in resolving customer quality issuesInitiate and drive root cause and corrective action on process and product quality issuesAssist in deploying SPC initiativesParticipate in supplier selection and improvement processesResponsibilities include assisting with on-site audits, evaluating prototypes, and reviewing and approving of supplier corrective actionsCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as requiredAbility to work independently under supervision of othersSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend appropriate customer, business or program meetingsPrepare quality engineering reports and recommendationsProvide regular reporting of progress and statusCompletion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirementsSpecialties may include:Electrical EngineeringMechanical EngineeringSoftware EngineeringLaser EngineeringOptical EngineeringSupplier Quality EngineeringJob Responsibilities Part IIQualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experienceNovice technical expertise and application domain knowledgeBasic knowledge of ISO Standards, Six Sigma tools, statisticsASQ certification Familiar with ISO Standards, Six Sigma tools, StatisticsAbility to understand military specifications and to read blueprintsExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skillsAbility to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective actionTaking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
