At ST Engineering MRAS, we are also rapidly augmenting our maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities leveraging the company’s expanded aircraft nacelle portfolio as well as it’s materials and processing expertise.\n\nWhat YOU will do\n\nWork with other process engineers, quality, and operations to define design requirements, production methodology, and tooling concepts.\n\nDesign a wide variety of tooling to support composite bonding, trimming, assembly, inspection, and transport.\n\nCreate and maintain detailed models (3D) and drawings (2D) that fully document the tool design using Catia V5.\n\nSupport in-house and external vendors during tooling manufacturing, design reviews, and final buy off.\n\nEnsure tooling complies with engineering specifications, industry standards, and best practices.\n\nSupport new product design reviews to ensure DFM and DFA and provide technical insight.\n\nSkills:\n\nDesign – develops products from concept to reality, preferrable in tool and/or manufacturing equipment design.\n\nStrong CATIA V5 background – ability to work with complex surface geometries, large assemblies, to design in context, and create clear and effective drawings that fully describe the geometry, materials, and other requirements.\n\nDetail oriented – Submits a well thought‑out, clearly documented, and robustly modeled product.\n\nPerform engineering calculations, tolerance stack‑ups, define GD&T, material selection.\n\nPreferred experience working with composite material processes (lay-up, bagging, trimming).\n\nCritical Thinking.\n\nTroubleshoot engineering issues that are affecting part quality, cost and/or function.\n\nBalance requirements, cost, and schedule to meet goals.\n\nPerform tradeoff studies to select an optimum approach.\n\nCommunication.\n\nEffectively liaison with other functional groups with potentially conflicting priorities.\n\nCreate clear engineering documentation in support of manufacturing activities.\n\nHands‑on/mechanical aptitude – willingness to step away from the desk and work with operators to fully understand situations or support engineering development work.\n\nWhat YOU must bring to Succeed\n\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline or relevant work experience, training, and skills in lieu of degree.\n\n5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing and/or product design.\n\nExperience working with composite material processes (lay-up, bagging, trimming) is preferred.\n\nThis position involves access to export‑controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization.
