As a Web Developer on the Clover Gift Cards team, you will be at the heart of one of our most impactful and fast-growing merchant engagement platforms. In this role, you will help design, scale, and maintain the end-to-end engineering ecosystem that powers digital and physical gift card experiences across Clover point-of-sale (POS) hardware devices, web applications, and consumer portals.\r\nWhat you'll do Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team of software developers and engineers to build intuitive merchant- and consumer-facing web interfaces.\r\nTake full ownership of core services and feature delivery—from initial architecture and technical design through to deployment and production monitoring.\r\nTranslate product requirements into functional, maintainable, and extensible software while identifying technical requirements in product planning meetings.\r\nWrite automated developer tests for new features and update existing test suites to maintain low response times, high signal-to-noise quality, and optimal application performance.\r\nPartner with QA and engineering colleagues to develop comprehensive test strategies, perform root-cause troubleshooting, and resolve complex application issues.\r\nParticipate in a regular team on-call rotation to maintain platform reliability and high availability for global merchants.\r\nResponsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.\r\nExperience you'll need to have Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).\r\nSoftware Delivery: 7+ years of professional experience designing, developing, delivering, and supporting critical enterprise web applications.\r\nFrontend Mastery: Strong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, SASS/LESS, browser DOM APIs, and web build systems (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, Grunt).\r\nModern Frameworks: Deep experience building responsive, highly accessible web applications using React, Next.js, or Ember.\r\nAPI & Data Engineering: Solid hands-on experience developing REST and GraphQL APIs, along with working knowledge of relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases and complex query design.\r\nCloud & Automation: Experience working in cloud environments (preferably GCP) and writing automated web tests using modern frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium).\r\nModern Architectures & Tools: Proven experience in Agile environments using Git, with an understanding of modern web architectures (micro-frontends, Webpack Module Federation, service workers).\r\nExperience that would be great to have Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a track record of effective cross-functional teamwork.\r\nAI-Assisted Development: Proven experience leveraging AI software engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, IDE plugins, AI coding agents) to optimize workflows, accelerate debugging, and elevate overall developer velocity.\r\nBack-End development or light knowledge in Java, Spring Boot & Microservices.\r\nHow you'll work:\r\nThis role is on-site Monday through Friday.
