Software Engineer, Full Stack

Sift Engineering Role In this role, you'll:Build and maintain full stack features across our web application and data processing backend for complex telemetry dataCreate intuitive user interfaces for data exploration while optimizing for large real-time datasetsImplement efficient APIs and data access patterns for real-time data streamingCollaborate with data platform and frontend teams on service design and implementationWrite clean, maintainable code and participate in technical design discussionsThe skillset you'll bring:3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software developmentExperience building production applications with technologies like React, NextJS, TypeScript, Go, Rust, and PythonFamiliarity with relational and non-relational databases, e.g. PostgreSQL, Druid, Pinot, Timescale, or similarStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailBonus points:Experience with technical visualization tools (WebGL, D3.js, Apache ECharts) and time-series dataKnowledge of WebAssembly and browser-based computationBackground in scientific computing or technical data visualizationExperience building tools for technical users (dashboards, data-editing environments)Built and launched side projects with consistent usage trafficEngineering at SIFT:You'll have the opportunity to help evolve and scale our platform because we're still in the early stages of building the product. Relevant technologies include:Web frontend & backend: ECharts, Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Protobuf, Radix, React, Redux, and TypeScriptData: Arrow, DataFusion, Flink, Parquet, and RustInfrastructure: Argo CD, AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, Grafana, Kubernetes, Kustomize, Linux, Prometheus, and TerragruntLocation:Sift's headquarters is in Marina Del Rey, CA (next to LAX). We collaborate in person twice a week—on Mondays and Thursdays—and come together for a full week every two months. We are open to relocating candidates to LA or working from our San Francisco office for the right candidate.Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 per year.
