This role plans daily workloads, balances lines, enforces ESD/quality standards, removes bottlenecks, and drives continuous improvement to meet output, cost, and delivery targets.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPeople Leadership & Daily Management\n· Lead, coach, and schedule a team of [40–60] production associates across manual assembly, team leads, testing, and visual inspection.\n· Conduct daily start-up meetings (safety, quality alerts, build plan, headcount), assign work, and rebalance stations to hit takt/time goals.\n· Train cross-functional skills (e.g., IPC-A-610 workmanship, ESD handling, hand tools, and best practices); maintain skills matrix.\n· Monitor attendance, performance, and behavior; provide feedback, recognition, and corrective actions where needed.\n· Safety & Compliance\n· Enforce OSHA, ESD controls (ANSI/ESD S20.20), PPE, lockout/tagout, and ergonomic best practices.\n· Lead incident response, near-miss reporting, and weekly safety audits; drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).\nQuality Assurance\n· Ensure adherence to work instructions, BOMs, drawings, IPC-A-610/620 workmanship standards, and customer/regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001).\n· Perform first-article checks, in-process audits, and final visual inspections; escalate non-conformances and lead root-cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa).\n· Contain defects, coordinate rework, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions; track FPY and DPPM.\nProduction Planning & Execution\n· Convert daily/weekly build plans to station-level assignments; maintain WIP flow and minimize changeover losses in manual lines.\n· Ensure materials availability (kanban, kitting, point-of-use), tool readiness (calibration, tip condition), and workstation 5S.\n· Track and report output vs. plan, takt adherence, labor utilization, and downtime; remove constraints proactively.\nContinuous Improvement (Lean)\n· Apply Lean methods for manual processes: 5S, standardized work, visual management, line balancing, motion/waste reduction.\n· Lead kaizen events focused on ergonomic improvements, setup reduction, and defect prevention (poka-yoke).\n· Maintain and improve work instructions, visual aids, and training materials.\nDocumentation & Systems\n· Record production data in MES/ERP (e.g., work orders, scrap, rework, labor booking); ensure lot traceability and device history records.\n· Maintain training records, skill certifications, inspection logs, and ESD audit results\nEducation/Experience:\n· Bachelor's degree (related field)\n· 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing process management or NPI environment.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n· Strong knowledge of manual assembly, visual inspection, and ESD handling.\n· Familiarity with IPC-A-610 (and/or IPC-J-STD-001) standards; certification is a plus.\n· Experience with Lean/5S, standard work, basic root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.\n· Proficiency with production systems (MES/ERP), basic spreadsheet/reporting skills, and shop-floor documentation.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n· IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 Certified Specialist/Trainer.\n· Experience in high-mix/low-volume environments or NPI ramps.\n· Knowledge of test processes (ICT/functional test), torque drivers, and precision hand tools.\n· ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 familiarity; CAPA and internal audit experience.\n· Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) in multicultural shop-floor settings.\nCore Competencies:\n· Team leadership & coaching in a hands-on environment\n· Attention to detail and workmanship quality\n· Problem solving & decision-making under time pressure\n· Communication (clear, respectful, and timely)\n· Planning, prioritization, and line balancing\n· Safety mindset and accountability\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements:\n· Stand, walk, and perform fine motor tasks for extended periods; lift up to 30–40 lbs occasionally.\n· Frequent use of microscopes, tweezers, soldering irons, torque tools, and small fixtures.\n· Work in ESD-controlled production areas.\n· PPE as required (ESD smocks/wrist straps, safety glasses, gloves).\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs):\n· Safety: TRIR, near-misses, audit scores\n· Quality: FPY, DPPM, rework/scrap %, audit pass rate\n· Delivery: Schedule adherence/OTD, hours per unit, WIP days\n· Productivity: Labor utilization, takt attainment, line balance efficiency\n· Engagement: Training completion, cross-skill coverage, turnover/absenteeism\nADA / Reasonable Accommodation Statement\nWiwynn is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
