Reporting to the Senior Manager of SPARC Plant Operations, this role is essential to support commissioning, operational readiness, and steady-state operations.\nShift Operators will perform both Control Room monitoring and field operations, responding to alarms and abnormal conditions, while ensuring safe operating practices at all times. Operators will receive training on SPARC's major steady state plant systems, including:\nElectrical distribution\nCooling Water\nCompressedAir\nHVAC\nCryogenics Plant\nOther supporting plant infrastructure\nAdditional responsibilities include:\nProcedure development and revision\nEquipment/system troubleshooting and testing\nPerforming Lockout/Tagout\nSupporting commissioning and training activities\nThis position is ideal for individuals with power plant or equivalent complex facility experience, who thrive in dynamics environments, and want to contribute directly to the operation of a first-of-its-kind fusion facility.\n3rd shift - Hours: 10:00 pm - 6:30 am (hours are subject to slight adjustments of one to two hours)\nRate of pay: $30 - $41 per hour + 15% differential\nWhat you'll do:\nOperate, monitor, and maintain plant systems and equipment supporting SPARC operations\nTroubleshoot systems such as cooling water, compressed air, HVAC, cryogenics, liquid nitrogen, and electrical distribution\nSafely operate plant equipment under normal and abnormal conditions, both remotely from the control room and locally in the field\nPerform switching and tagging (LOTO) to support maintenance and commissioning\nParticipate in procedure development, revision, and optimization\nSupport testing and commissioning of plant systems\nAdhere to human performance and safety standards in all activities\nWhat we’re looking for:\nHigh School Graduate/GED\n5 years in operations at complex facilities\nExperience in low voltage and/or complex electrical environments\nExperience with large cooling water systems\nPreviously qualified Lockout Tagout (LOTO) / Tagging Program\nComplex facility operations (power plant, oil & gas, LNG, etc.)\nSafety-conscious mindset with demonstrated strong safety background\nComprehensive understanding of engineering principles and theory of operation of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems associated with facility operations\nWell-developed analytical and problem-solving skill to permit analysis and evaluation of system problems and the ability to apply knowledge and the use of procedures to the operation\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written\nExcels in a constantly changing environment\nAbility to learn new things quickly\nBonus points for:\nExperience in radiological environments\nExperience with Cryogenic Systems\nBachelors Degree in Engineering or related field\nStrong background in Human Performance\nExperience with high voltage electrical systems\nMust-have Requirements:\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs\nPerform activities such as stooping, climbing, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time\nDedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, and cryogenics\nWillingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally\nSalary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits.
