Automation Engineer - Development - Data Centers (SCADA)We are seeking an experienced Programmer / Integrator / HMI Developer to join our engineering team supporting Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and industrial control systems. This role supports data centers and mission-critical facilities by assisting in the development of control logic, system integrations, HMI/SCADA applications, and IT/OT network connectivity under the guidance of senior engineers.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong technical foundation who are looking to build hands-on experience in building automation, controls, and industrial networking.ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing and configuring control logic for PLC and BMS systemsSupport programming and configuration of platforms such as Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Tridium Niagara, and IgnitionAssist in developing HMI/SCADA graphics, dashboards, alarms, and trendsSupport integration of third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, and related protocolsAssist with basic IT/OT network setup and troubleshooting (IP addressing, subnetting, device connectivity)Participate in system testing, commissioning, and startup activities (may require travel)Troubleshoot basic system, communication, and network issues with guidance from senior engineersFollow established programming and cybersecurity standards and documentation practicesAssist in developing project documentation, including sequences, as-builts, network layouts, and change logsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field1+ years of experience (controls, automation, IT, or networking are preferred)Intermediate understanding of control systems, logic, or programming conceptsExperience with at least one or more of the following: PLC programming (Rockwell or similar)Building Automation Systems (Schneider, Honeywell, Niagara, etc.)SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition or similar)Solid understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, subnets, switches, routing fundamentals)Familiarity with communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, and/or TCP/IP networkingAbility to read and interpret basic drawings, sequences, and network diagramsStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to learnWillingness to travel to project sites as neededPreferred QualificationsInternship or project experience in building automation, industrial controls, SCADA, or networkingExposure to IT/OT environments, including VLANs, managed switches, or network segmentationInterest in HVAC and Electrical Power Monitoring SystemsRelevant coursework, certifications, or training Salary Range: $70K-$85K/yr DOE.BenefitsMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceBasic Life InsuranceVoluntary Life InsuranceShort Term & Long Term DisabilityPaid VacationPaid Sick TimePaid Holidays401K with Company matchPre-Employment Requirements:All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment screenings, which may include a background check and drug screening, conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
