We are looking for a Component Engineer to support Strategic Microelectronics at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.Duties include:Provide component engineering support to the technologist team, to include writing technical reportsAdvise military programs and designers on part selectionTroubleshoot component technical issues and recommend solutionsUnderstand electrical test methods and techniques, radiations effects, failure analysis tools and techniques, material analysis tools and techniquesInterface with program offices, prime contractors, designers, parts manufacturers, test labs, and other government agenciesDevelop and review test plan documentationProvide complete life-cycle support of strategic systemsParticipate in Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Audits, participate in Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC) meetings, and perform reviews and make recommendations on Military Performance Specifications and Test MethodsTravel is required 25-50% of the timeMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field preferably in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent Component Engineering experience with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE partsKnowledgeable or willingness to learn best design practices for IEEE partsBasic understanding of military industry standards (MIL-STD)Understand the different standards in regards to the type of part and has the ability to analyze the differencesAbility to communicate ideas to customers, program office, colleagues, and contractorsUnderstanding of Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn more complex functionsAbility to write technical reportsUnderstanding of basic electrical testing of IEEE partsAbility to pass and maintain a Security Clearance (Note: U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a US security clearance)Preferred Qualifications:Component Engineer with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE partsExperience with discrete, passive, digital, or analog devicesKnowledgeable on best design practices for IEEE parts with a focus on IC’s including manufacturing processesUnderstanding of the differences between military, industry, commercial, and automotive standardsStrong understanding of Microsoft Excel: Formula integration, Macros, etc. Strong understanding of electrical testing of IEEE parts with the ability to perform basic electrical benchtop testingActive Secret ClearanceCompensation Details:$120,000 - $190,000 annuallyThe compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
