{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"0dd7ca1db75a26fbfe71f244","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/0dd7ca1db75a26fbfe71f244","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/0dd7ca1db75a26fbfe71f244","title":"Material Handler","description":"THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA\n\nGeneral Accountability:\nThis position will be responsible for unloading product deliveries, maintain stock in the warehouse, moving stock and other materials to fulfill orders, recording location of inventory, and maintains accurate inventory of product.\nDuties and Responsibility:\nMaintain a safe work environment\nWork without close supervisor\nJob duties include but are not limited to:\nInbound Freight:\nReceive materials from freight carrier by verifying receipt of proper number of crates, boxes, cartons, etc.\nInspect freight as delivered for shortages and damages.\nCheck shipments against packing slip.\nData entry of daily receipts.\nPlace material in stock, move to appropriate production department, or ship to customer/dealer.\nOutbound Freight:\nGather, verify, inspect, package and ship parts per instructions\nAbility to use shipping software for small parcel packages\nKnowledge of various export packaging requirements.\nShop Floor Support:\nGather and/or disperse inventory items per issue notes to proper floor location\nInspect completed manufactured parts as delivered to the storeroom and put into proper location\nGeneral Parts Room:\nMaintain proper location and inventory counts in IFS.\nPerform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified.\nAdheres to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.\nIn the event of an accident or injury immediately, notify the Shift supervisor on duty.\nContact Maintenance Department to get equipment repaired when necessary.\nAbility and willingness to take on additional assignments as requested by management.\nUse tools, equipment and technology, computers or automated systems.\nContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.\nCheck results for conformance to print and / or specifications and make necessary corrections.\nWork with coworkers in a polite and courteous manner, providing cross training as needed.\nAble to work overtime as required.\nAble to lift up to 50 lbs. independently\nOther duties as assigned.\nEducation and Experience Qualifications:\nMinimum education: High school diploma or GED.\n\nSkills and Competencies/Requirements:\n1-2 years experience operating forklift (preferred)\nComputer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite is preferred and ERP system\nExperience operating forklift and other lift equipment.\nStrong analytical and reasoning skills\nExperience with cycle counting a plus.\nMust be a self-starter, team player and have the ability to multitask.\nAble and willing to work in other areas as needed. Suggest and implement improvements. Follow up on details. Seek out productive work when assignments are completed. Actively participate in continuous improvement for our products and process to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability.\n\nEquipment: tools, metatarsal safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, gloves and other PPE as needed.\n\nWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, lifting multiple pounds regularly, use wrist motion, reach above/below shoulders, step up/down, bend/stoop, twist, squat/crouch, kneel or crawl.\n\nEssential Skills: Perform work standing on a concrete a minimum of 8 hours up to 10 hours per day. Reading, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, computer use, and continuous learning.
