Are you ready for your career at CI?\n\nPosition Summary and Purpose: Set up and operate CNC plasma, oxygen and laser cutting machines to cut metal plates and structure shapes to dimension, contour, and bevel specified by blueprints along with setting up and operating CNC press brakes to notch, bend, broach, straighten and punch various sized metal sheets or plate. This role may also fabricate, assemble and weld a wide variety of sheet metal parts as needed\nSECOND SHIFT START TIME: either 2:30; 3:30 or 4:30pm (optional year round) M-F. Shift Differential Pay: $2.50/hr.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nESSENTIAL:\nReceive work assignment and obtain drawings or programs for information as to material size and type, setup information and cutting sequence, to manually or automatically cut material\nPosition work onto CNC machinery using remote overhead crane\nSelect and install torch tips or nozzles; verify and adjust gas pressure and mixture or arc voltage and amperage\nAdjust torch height, position and tilt to cut\nBurns scrap into smaller pieces as necessary and remove scrap from burning table into scrap bins; remove unused plate to plate stores area\nInspect and remove finished parts from burning table and mark part number as required\nIndicate bad spots to be welded\nChecks accuracy of bends and curves with contour or template or measuring tools\nPosition and assemble sheet metal sections together and fasten with either spot welding and/or continuous wire weld, may use welding positioner\nDeburr and clean work pieces as required prior to assembly; de-slag, chip and clean welds as required\nPerform operations to specified tolerances on fabricated units such as panel boxes, covers, flywheel guards, sheet metal brackets, etc.\nOperates secondary machine while primary machine performs routine functions\nPerform routine maintenance on equipment including checking oil levels, fluid levels, air filters, etc.\nPerform operations such as notching, bending, broaching, straightening, stamping and punching as required on various sizes and configurations of plate and sheet metal to standard tolerances\n; Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures\nEducation and Experience:\nREQUIRED:\nHigh School diploma or certificate of equivalency\nPrior CNC cutting experience\nPrior welding experience\nPrior CNC press brake experience\nValuable But Not Required:\nTrade certification\nStrong mechanical background\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.\nREQUIRED:\nExperience with CNC machining operations\nExcellent math skills and understanding of basic concepts\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and drawings\nDemonstrated manual dexterity and accuracy\nAttention to detail with ability to multitask\nCommitment to company Core Values\nValuable: But Not Required:\nPC skills and general knowledge\nTools, Technology and Equipment Used: Remote overhead crane, multi-torch thermal cutting machine, basic hand tools, simple measuring tools, hand torch, pry bar and tongs, marking tool\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
