Staff Accountant

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT!On-site full-timeThe Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting activities needed to produce accurate and timely financial statements. This position assists the CFO in achieving the facility's financial goals in compliance with facility policies and procedures.Your Work Matters: How will you make a difference?Preparation of journal entries, completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of the facility's fixed assets register.Analyzes actual-to-budget variance of facility operating expenses.Reviews accounts payable coding and aging.Serves as backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.Participates in monthly accounting close as assigned.Assists the Controller in the production of the Monthly Operating Report (MOR).Assists Controller in completion of external requests, such as interim and year-end audits, workers' compensation audit, etcManages petty cash.Deposits cash receipts timely and accurately.Prepares weekly staffing report.Prepares vendor 1099s.Completes a variety of clerical projects as assigned.Adheres to facility, department, corporate and standard policies and procedures.Attends all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.Adheres to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.Supports facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.Maintains confidentiality of employee and patient informationYour Experience Matters What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferredExperience: Two (2) - Five (5) years of experience in accounting and month-end closing activities preferred. Hospital experience preferredAdditional Skills: Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) preferred.Strong analytical and reconciliation skills necessary. Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are needed.
