You will be responsible for executing Digital Customer Experience and API Strategy of MGIC through a team of Software Engineers, Systems Analysts, Architects, and Staff Augmentation resources. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of web-based and cloud-based application projects. This is accomplished by:\n\nManage, lead, and support others through the process of change both within the team and throughout the organization to achieve results related to MGIC’s corporate strategy.\nAnalyze business processes and issues. Manage departmental policies, procedures, and standards to enhance efficiency and work quality.\nResponsible for full life cycle development of web and cloud-based applications to include design, implementation, testing and maintenance of simple to complex computer programs and subsystems.\nCollaborate closely with the architects, engineers, and product managers to architect and develop technical design and approach, ensuring proper monitoring and alerts are in place for any solutions.\nManage the day-to-day activities of the software engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.\nManage consulting services, including development of statements of work, engagement and management of contractors, and monitoring of work against the SOW.\nPartner closely with Directors and Architects on technology roadmaps and fostering an agile mindset and culture.\nTranslate our digital strategies into a delivery roadmap to inform and steer digital experience enhancements and align organizational efforts.\nContribute to the creation of the Digital team’s overall digital strategy and be accountable for achieving our goals.\nDo you have what it takes?\n3+ years of experience managing the architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of on-premises and cloud systems.\nSome knowledge with SQL, RESTful APIs, system design, data structures, and algorithms\nKnowledge within at least one application language: Java, C#, Python, NodeJS etc.\nExperience delivering web applications and integration capabilities.\nExperience with Portal enabling technologies e.g Salesforce, Sitecore, etc.\nExperience with API integrations and microservice architectures.\nExperience with Client-Side technologies including JavaScript, CSS3, Angular, React\nExperience with API platforms, developer portals, and/or API management tools (Mulesoft, Apigee, Azure, Boomi, etc), and with managing API programs/partnerships a plus.\nMortgage or Mortgage Insurance experience a plus.\nYou might be a good fit if you like to:\nWork collaboratively in an innovative culture using Agile techniques and methodologies.\nLead multiple complex cross-functional projects.\nInvestigate problems and make recommendations for resolution.\nDrive partnerships with internal teams and building relationships through project delivery.\nCommunicate strategy and vision of a project to technical and non-technical team members.\nIdentify and remove obstacles to change.\nWhat does success look like?\nFirst 30 days: Understanding current state and future direction.\nFirst 6 months: Develop capabilities from within our delivery roadmaps, plan, execute and implement.\nFirst year: Continue to plan, execute, and implement capabilities outlined in delivery roadmaps.\n#LI-Hybrid\n#LI-Remote\n#LI-MA1\nEnjoy these benefits from day one:\n\nCompetitive Salary & pay-for-performance bonus\nFinancial Benefits (401k with company match, profit sharing, HSA, wellness program)\nOn-site Fitness Center and classes (corporate office)\nPaid-time off and paid company holidays\nBusiness casual dress\nFor additional information about MGIC and to apply, please visit our website at\nwww.mgic.com/careers\n.\nNote to all recruitment agencies:\nMGIC does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
