Join us!\nThe Advisor is the primary point of contact for assigned students/families for non-instructional matters. The role helps foster a high touch approach to educational support and exhibits a commitment and desire to provide the best experience possible for students and families. The role empowers families to increase their involvement and assist in their student’s education, facilitates engagement in school activities and provides clear and consistent communication regarding school expectations and activities.\nEssential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\nOversees a caseload of students assigned to as the primary point of contact with the school\nMonitors student participation and works to contact students who do not attend; (Using the GO Outreach Box to identify SS struggles);\nUsing Guided Outreach, or GO Box, ensures a Strong Start at the school and identifies students showing signs of academic decline as determined by course grades, log-ins, course activity and missing assignments, and initiates appropriate student support interventions;\nArranges support conferences as needed to address performance concerns;\nAssists students in creating plans to Student Support plans;\nOversees the onboarding process for assigned students;\nModerates homeroom activities and facilitates Social Emotional Learning programs;\nProvides a reactive response to students who reach out for support;\nProvides proactive outreach to students identified at risk using GO Outreach Box: 2, 3 and 5;\nProvides ongoing re-registration support;\nServes as a liaison between the student, Learning Coach and teachers to ensure that all school personnel understand how to contact and communicate with the student in a manner that builds ties between the student and the school;\nProvides outreach, training, and support to families who respond to Students First Check In surveys as it relates to family engagement to enhance the sense of community and belonging;\nProvides individualized attention and support to students and Learning Coaches identified for training gaps or requested networking within the school community;\nServes as a point of contact for all non-instructional issues after placement, ensuring students have all necessary equipment and know both how and when to access their courses;\nInitiates meaningful contact by phone with students and their Learning Coach;\nParticipates in the live online orientation sessions;\nOversees weekly office hours/help sessions to support new families through the Strong Start process;\nServes as a liaison between students and/or Learning Coaches and teachers and/or administration;\nIdentifies school programs, resources, assistance to help each family make the most of what the schools have to offer;\nIncreases professional knowledge and skills by attending required staff meetings; participating in school and K12 sponsored Professional Development and seeking other professional learning opportunities.\nSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.\nMinimum Required Qualifications:\nTwo (2) years of college AND\nTwo (2) years of experience in education OR\nEquivalent combination of education and related experience\nCertificates and Licenses: None Required.\nResidency Requirement: Must be an Ohio resident.\nOTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nStrong written and verbal communication skills;\nExcellent problem-solving skills;\nOrganizations skills, multi-tasking abilities;\nCustomer service focus;\nAdaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment;\nExperience coordinating academically-oriented clubs and extra-curricular activities;\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Web proficiency;\nFamiliarity with the online learning experience;\nAbility to travel 25% of the time;\nAbility to pass required background check.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience working with the proposed age group.\nExperience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology.\nAn ability to learn new technology tools quickly (ex. database and web-based tools).\nWork Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
