The Auditor will also educate providers, coders, and staff on guidelines, offer coding support, and contribute to the performance evaluation of revenue cycle personnel.ResponsibilitiesAudit Medical RecordsPerform CPT coding audits, ensuring alignment with clinical documentation.Compile detailed reports of audit findings.Meet established productivity targets for audits.Provider Medical Record AuditsConduct biannual audits for accurate CPT coding assignments.Maintain an audit log for BHMG.Prepare reports analyzing findings from audits.Provider Communication and EducationCommunicate with providers to validate observations and suggest enhanced documentation.Design tools supporting physician documentation in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle Manager.Develop and implement formal and informal education plans for providers.Team Training and SupportTrain new BHMG revenue cycle team employees on coding and documentation guidelines.Assist the Revenue Cycle Manager in evaluating coding activities and team performance.Other DutiesPerform coding procedures as needed.Undertake additional responsibilities within the job's scope as assigned. Required QualificationsEducation: Associate Degree in a related field.Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC).Experience: Minimum of 5 years in inpatient/outpatient coding and auditing. Preferred QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.Experience: Coding experience in a multi-specialty group practice setting.
