Position Title: Teacher AssistantLocation: Tulls Creek Elementary SchoolReports To: Assigned Classroom Teacher & School PrincipalJob Type: Full-TimeStart Date: August 10, 2026Salary: Based on NC State Salary Schedule for Teacher AssistantsJob Summary:Currituck County Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PE Teacher Assistant to support student learning and assist teachers in daily classroom activities. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and help promote academic and social success for all students.Responsibilities:* Assist the classroom teacher with instruction, classroom management, and preparation of materials.* Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.* Supervise students in various settings including the classroom, lunchroom, playground, and during transitions.* Support students with special needs as assigned.* Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.* Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, grading simple assignments, and organizing supplies.* Attend training, workshops, and meetings as required.Qualifications:* High school diploma or equivalent required.* Minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework or Associate's degree required.* Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.* Basic knowledge of child development and instructional strategies.Working Conditions:* School-based environment* May require lifting and physical activity* Regular school hours with occasional after-school commitmentsBenefits:Competitive salary based on experience and education.Health and retirement benefits.Opportunities for professional growth and development.
