Job DescriptionHometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is looking to fill an opening for a Veterinary Assistant with potential for growth!Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is an NVA owned & AAHA accredited general practice/dental referral clinic located in Weston, Florida.A Veterinary Assistant works side-by-side with the doctor to provide care and treatment to patients. A Veterinary Assistant generates treatment plans as recommended by the doctor, presents them to the client and explains the necessity and value of each item recommended. The Vet Assistant also helps maintain the doctor's schedule, handles client communication when the doctor is unavailable, transcribes notes as dictated by the doctor, and assists with executing treatments during the appointment flow.Excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding client service are essential. Strong reading, writing and math skills are required.Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed!ResponsibilitiesAssist with providing patient care, including administering vaccines, drawing blood, placing catheters, giving nail trims, cleaning ears, etc.Create treatment plans in Avimark based on the doctor's recommendations and present to the client for financial approvalCollecting specimens and performing basic lab workTaking x-rays and photographsClient relations, including outbound calls to clients and face-to-face interactionUpdating patient medical records to reflect care givenEnsure client satisfaction through excellent serviceInform clients about products and services offeredOther duties as requestedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent work experience requiredFlexibility in scheduling, including working until 7pm and weekend availability in a rotating weekend scheduleAbility to maintain a positive attitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrior clinical experience desiredPrior Avimark experience a plus!Bilingual applicants welcomed!We are looking to fill positions immediately - please submit your resume for review!Hours per week:30-39Work RemotelyNoJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time off for full-time employees after tenure requirements are metProfessional development assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftWeekends as neededExperience:Veterinary: 1 year (Preferred)
