Verification and validation Systems Engineer The Opportunity Do you have a Space System V&V Engineering background? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your technical skills to our nation's Space Systems? If this sounds like you, come join Space Force Analytics (SFA) and a team of scientists, engineers, and space system acquisition experts that are developing the next generation of remote sensing satellite and ground systems.
As a Verification and Validation engineer on our team, you will develop and deploy the next generation of capabilities to deliver critical information to our warfighters. Your client will trust you to develop Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), technical assessments, verification plans, and digital system models for satellite systems and payloads. You will grow your skills by researching new requirements, technologies, and threats, and using innovative engineering methodologies and tools to create tomorrow's solutions. Your expertise and innovative thinking will be critical to the success of the programs that you support. Our Mission Areas include Weather, Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Tactical ISR Systems. The work may include 1 or 2 days per week on site and occasional travel to various contractor sites and U.S. Government installations.
You Have 5+ years of experience performing systems engineering or integration
Experience in requirements and interface management, including development, decomposition, and traceability
Experience performing systems engineering for satellite systems
Experience navigating Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), preparing technical artifacts and presentations, and leading Working Groups (WGs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
Experience using management tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or Jama
Experience using Confluence and Jira
Knowledge of the Verification and Validation Lifecycle
Bachelor's degree in a STEM major
Nice if You Have Experience in OPIR, Defense Weather, or Tactical ISR Mission Areas
Experience with OPIR Payloads, Space-Weather Payloads, Satellite bus and subsystems including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, TT&C, communications, data processing, and structures
Experience leading a team performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems
Experience leading a team using Model-Based Systems engineering to manage system definition and technical baselines
Experience with digital engineering and model-based systems engineering
Master's Degree
