In this role you will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of quality systems, processes, and data, and report on quality metrics for assembly, process, test, mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical quality records.\n\nYou will collaborate with cross‑functional teams in engineering, operations, and software development to implement quality standards, identify improvement opportunities, and support digital transformation efforts.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation (e.g., work instructions, control plans) in accordance with AS9100, ISO9001, and applicable MIL‑STD specifications.\n\nPlan, execute, and evaluate inspections, audits, and non‑conformance investigations (NCRs, CAPA).\n\nCreate and maintain test and inspection procedures, data‑collection templates, and statistical analysis tools.\n\nAnalyze defect trends using root‑cause analysis (5‑Why, Fishbone) and drive corrective actions across cross‑functional teams.\n\nSupport configuration management by reviewing engineering drawings, change notices, and ensuring proper traceability.\n\nFacilitate internal and external audits (e.g., CMMC, ITAR) and ensure timely closure of findings.\n\nProvide training and mentorship to engineers and technicians on quality tools, statistical methods, and compliance expectations.\n\nGenerate metrics and dashboards (PPM, DPMO, first‑pass yield) for senior leadership and program reviews.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, gate reviews, and risk assessments to represent quality perspective and guarantee “build‑to‑spec” compliance.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nUnderstanding of quality assurance principles, process auditing, or continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nPractical knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, MIL‑STD‑1916, or similar standards.\n\nPrevious quality experience or experience in a high‑reliability industry (aviation, automotive, medical devices).\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen to meet program requirements.\n\nDesired Skills\n\nCertified Quality Engineer (CQE) or willingness to obtain.\n\nKnowledge of APQP, PPQP, DFMEA, and FMEA processes.\n\nAbility or willingness to learn, read, and interpret engineering drawings, GD‑L, and configuration management data.\n\nExperience creating or maintaining quality command media or documented procedures.\n\nStrong analytical/problem‑solving mindset.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication (ability to produce clear reports and present findings).\n\nDetail‑oriented, self‑starter who can work independently and within cross‑functional teams.\n\nClearance Level\nNone\n\nBenefits\nMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.\n\nEqual Opportunity\nLockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer.
