Oversee people, processes, and systems to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective estimating practices across the organization.\n\nPrincipal Duties and Accountabilities:\nProvide managerial guidance to Regional Managers of Estimating and/or Chief Estimator(s).\nChair the Estimating steering committee as needed.\nSupport executive leadership and administrative functions related to the Estimating department.\nEvaluate, implement and maintain estimating software, tools, and technology.\nEstablish and maintain standard operating procedures for the estimating across the USEC system.\nProvide strategic insights to leadership regarding market conditions, competitor activity, and project pursuit decisions.\nCollaborate with Directors of Preconstruction to maintain comprehensive cost history database (Vector) for future benchmarking.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating speed, accuracy, quality, and win rate.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.\nSet policies for software platforms and configurations in alignment with industry standards.\nCreates and assigns developmental projects for estimating teams across the Construction group.\nMonitor overall workload, output quality, and performance of regional estimating operations.\nIn partnership with the Vice Presidents of Project Development, the Director of Information Technology, and Regional Estimating Managers, establish and oversee the department budget for hardware and software.\nCoordinate software training with Regional Estimating Managers.\nStay current on industry software, hardware, and best practices; propose and implement improvements as needed.\nAssist with estimate development when required.\nJob Scope:\nRoutinely collaborates with Vice Presidents of Project Development and corporate/regional Vice Presidents of Operations to support company objectives with a “one team” approach.\n\nManagement Responsibility:\nSupervisor – responsible for hiring, performance management and pay administration for subordinates. List supervised positions: Estimators\nActs as a project manager – management of a project team, on which the individuals comprising the team may vary by project.\nEducation:\nAssociates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.\nEquivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience will be considered.\nExperience:\nMinimum of 7 years relevant mechanical construction industry experience is required.\nMinimum of 1 year construction operations supervisory, supervising estimating function.\nKnowledge, skills, and abilities:\nStrong understanding of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems\nKnowledge of mechanical construction operations, principles and project life cycle.\nProficiency with MS Word, Excel. PowerPoint, and internet research tools.\nDemonstrated leadership ability with success managing teams in a fast-paced. Shifting-priority environment.\nStrong collaboration skills; able to foster cooperation across teams.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to leadership, clients, engineers, and project teams.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge of current industry technologies and ability to lead adoption of new systems and tools.\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities.\nPhysical and/or travel demands\nThe Estimating Director role requires prolonged sitting and frequent use of computer, including keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Visual acuity is essential for reviewing drawings. Travel to regional offices for meetings, training and technical support is required.\n\nBenefits and Compensation:\nThe range for this position has been established at $142,080.00 - $200,000.00 and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.\nYour total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off.
