Lift Truck Operator 3rd shift

Complete Daily Lift Truck Operators Inspection Log to maintain proper care and maintenance. Ensure safety harness and tether are in proper working condition. Push, pull or lift product into available rack. Scan product to and from locations within the racks. Pull product for shipment or special inspection. Cycle scan for inventory verification. Load and unload trucks. Move furniture by hand truck, cart, or dolly. Open and inspect product, with regard to the condition of the carton. Place furniture into rows and stage product for shipment. Scan barcodes with Dolphin scan guns. Dispose of trash/cardboard into baler/compactor. Wrap furniture and load product on/off carts for lift trucks. Arrive punctually and consistently to work for normally scheduled hours. Contribute to team effort by performing various related duties to accomplish needed results. Assist in keeping the warehouse and work areas clean and organized. Clean Up Detail Operate baler, compactor, vacuum, and floor scrubber Battery Workstation Able to be certified in the maintenance of lift truck batteries Monitor levels and add water as needed to batteries Change out batteries for recharge Minimum Reasoning ability associated with this classification Ability to apply logical thinking and job knowledge to responsibly handle practical situations Ability to comprehend and respond to a variety of situations in an expedient manner May work independently so good judgment is essential Minimum Math ability usually associated with this classification: Basic addition, subtraction, percentages, multiplication and divisions skills required Minimum Language ability usually associated with this classification: Read: High School level Write: High School level Speak: Ability to be conversant in voice and diction so as to participate in discussions with associates, supervisors, and management both in person, via radio, and telephone Degree of Physical Demands (strength) usually associated with this classification: Ability to exert force, lift, carry or otherwise move objects of at least 75lbs. Ability to push, pull, and maneuver to 300lbs. with a dolly, hand truck, or wheeled cart Ability to stand, walk, hold and lift, possibly for extended periods of time while performing these functions in a continuous sequence for up to eight hours with one lunch break Type of Physical Demands usually associated with the classification: This position receives daily instruction from supervisory and/or management personnel which include communicating job functions, and giving instructions during training procedures. Environmental Conditions (Hazards) usually associated with this classification: None Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids which may be representative, but not all inclusive, of those commonly associated with this type of work: Trucks, Dolphin scan guns, wheeled carts, dollies, utility knives, safety belts, and hand trucks Safety and Precautionary Requirements: Harnesses and tethers for use on lift trucks at all times Safety belts and steeled toed shoes Utility knife training Safety goggles and gloves worn when disposing of glass and wood Emotional Demands: Must possess sufficient emotional resilience to operate within a sometimes hectic environment involving simultaneous priorities, rapid response situations, and generally chaotic situations. The worker must therefore be even-tempered, cool minded, and exhibit a high threshold for frustration. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to become Lift Truck certified. Capable and comfortable of working at heights exceeding of 30 feet. Able to push, pull, and lift heavy/large objects for extended periods of time. Working conditions This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, photocopiers and smartphones. As well as dolly, hand trucks, baler, and lift truck. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary Education Required High School or better
