Senior Tax Preparer & AuditorLocation McKinney, Texas | OnsiteCompensation & Schedule • $120,000 annually • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (in office); 60 hours/week during tax season (March 1–April 15) • Full-time, W2 • Start date: OpenRole Impact This role leads a high-volume, relationship-driven tax practice serving individuals and closely held businesses. The Senior Tax Preparer & Auditor is responsible for preparing and reviewing 500+ annual returns while providing strategic tax guidance and compliance oversight. Success in this role means delivering accurate, timely filings, mentoring staff, and building long-term client trust through expert advisory support.• Prepare and review 500+ annual tax returns including individual (1040), S-Corporation (1120S), partnership (1065), trust, and small business filings • Review and approve tax returns prepared by staff; ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness • Meet directly with clients to provide tax planning, advisory services, and compliance guidance • Research complex tax matters and interpret federal and state tax regulations • Support clients during audits and agency inquiries; prepare documentation and responsesMinimum Qualifications • 3+ years of public accounting tax preparation experience (corporate tax experience not required) • Active EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA license with ability to sign tax returns • Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; experience with Lacerte tax software preferredEquipment & Work Environment • 100% onsite office environment in McKinney, TX • Frequent client-facing meetings and collaboration with internal staff • Extended hours required during peak tax season (March 1–April 15) • Standard office equipment including multi-screen workstations and tax preparation softwarePreferred Skills • Experience handling high-volume books of business • Strong technical knowledge of pass-through entities and individual taxation • Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsBenefits • 401(k) with 3–4% employer match • 15 days PTO • Employer contribution up to $600/month toward health insurance premiums • Performance-based bonus potential (recent bonus example: $15,000)Legal NoticeBy applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from CornerStone and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
