Function/Duties of PositionThis position is under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objects of OHSU and the School of Dentistry and include: Serving as an instructor in the preclinical laboratory, reviewing student work and providing critical assessment and aid in performing normal dental procedures, serving as a course director and giving lectures, attending lectures of fellow faculty members for courses in which the person is assigned, teaching in the predoctoral dental clinic and supervising students providing patient care, performing scholarly activities such as research (including laboratory and/or clinical studies), participating on committees within the school and university as assigned, and providing patient care.The general pattern of working hours corresponds with scheduled clinic hours, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Deviations from this pattern may be necessary at times.Required QualificationsDental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school, or advanced training in a specialty program at a CODA accredited schoolADA accredited advanced training program in ProsthodonticsOregon Dental License, Unrestricted (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)BLS/ACLS issued by the American Heart AssociationPreferred QualificationsMembership and participation in professional societies in dental researchDemonstrated achievement in research including awards, extra-mural funding, and publications in peer reviewed journalsMust be able to teach at the pre and post graduate levelsExtensive experience in digital dentistry, with focus on implants and removable prosthodonticsWhy apply to OHSU?We are Oregon's only public academic health center.In addition to caring for patients, we lead groundbreaking research.
