Metal Bender

Position Summary The Metal Fabrication Technician is responsible for fabricating high-quality metal roofing accessories accurately and efficiently, while minimizing material waste. This role supports production schedules, walk-in customers, and overall shop operations by maintaining equipment, inventory, and a safe, organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Fabricate metal roofing accessories according to bend sheets and production requirements Program and operate fabrication equipment for custom flashings Coordinate with Production Controllers to meet installation timelines Label, store, and document completed fabrications accurately Maintain inventory of custom bent items and respond to emerging fabrication needs Provide customer service for walk-in customers, including: Greeting customers and documenting needs Creating quotes and invoices Fabricating requested materials Assisting with payment collection and material loading Maintain shop equipment and facility, including: Preventive maintenance on AutoBrake and Shear Forklift battery charging Daily setup and maintenance of shop audio/visual equipment Order, receive, store, and track metal, accessories, PPE, consumables, and tools Ensure metal panel machine trailers are protected and properly stored Maintain a clean, safe, and organized metal shop Follow all company safety policies and use required PPE Serve as backup for Yard and Inventory Maintenance Technician Additional Responsibilities Assist with vehicle transport as needed Snow removal and treatment of entrances and walkways Assist with annual materials inventory Perform other duties as assigned General Expectations Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety at all times Treat customers, coworkers, and company property with respect Deliver high-quality workmanship and service Maintain organization and efficiency in all work areas Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing Be punctual, dependable, and available for overtime as needed Work cooperatively as part of a team Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude Protect confidential customer and company information Physical Requirements Regularly stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift materials Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 85 pounds Perform physically demanding work for extended periods Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Must not be afraid of heights Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with the ADA Qualifications Experience & Skills: Roofing or construction experience preferred Ability to select and operate appropriate tools and equipment Forklift operation (company certification required) Strong coordination and mechanical aptitude Valid driver’s license required Knowledge Preferred: Building and construction materials and methods Mechanical systems, tools, and equipment Practical application of engineering and fabrication principles Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay Signing bonus License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)
