The Process Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing manufacturing improvements that drive safety, quality, efficiency, yield, and profitability. This role partners closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to optimize existing processes, support new product commercialization, analyze production performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.\n\nFreshpack is a custom cheese packaging company that develops and innovates cheese products and packaging. Our products can be found in all 50 states and in most major retailers. Over the past 25 years, our team has grown from 15 to 280+ employees. It is an exciting time to join our team, as we are poised for substantial growth over the next 3-5 years.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nContinuous Improvement\n\nLead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, throughput, yield, and labor efficiency.\nAnalyze production, quality, and downtime data to identify improvement opportunities and performance trends.\nDevelop, implement, and sustain process improvements using structured problem-solving methodologies.\nConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production, quality, and process-related issues.\nDrive waste reduction and yield improvement efforts, including trim reduction, overpack control, and floor loss reduction.\nEstablish performance standards and support continuous monitoring of process capability and operational efficiency.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain operational improvements.\n\nNew Product Development\n\nSupport new product introductions and process scale-up activities.\nLead manufacturing trials, process validation projects, and initial production runs.\nDevelop process parameters, work instructions, and operational standards for new products.\nIdentify and resolve manufacturability challenges during commercialization.\n\nProduction Support\n\nCreate and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.\nMonitor key manufacturing KPIs including OEE, throughput, yield, downtime, and labor efficiency.\nRecommend and implement corrective actions to improve process performance.\nSupport production teams in troubleshooting process-related issues.\nPartner with Maintenance and Engineering to improve equipment reliability and operational effectiveness.\nSupport equipment selection, installation, and startup activities by providing process expertise and operational requirements.\nRequirements:\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Engineering discipline or related field required.\n3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required.\nExperience leading or supporting continuous improvement, process optimization, or manufacturing excellence initiatives preferred.\nExperience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, packaging, or consumer packaged goods environments strongly preferred.\nLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training preferred.\nKnowledge of food safety systems, GMPs, HACCP, and SQF requirements preferred.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.\nUnderstanding of statistical analysis, process capability, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nExcellent communication and organizational skills.\n\n Physical Requirements/Work Environment\n\nTypical work schedule: M-F during standard business hours.\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nAbility to walk or stand for long periods of time while on production floor and warehouse.\n\nBenefits\n\nAnnual KPI bonus opportunity of up to 10% of base salary, paid quarterly.\nMedical, dental, vision, company-provided life insurance & more!\nReferral program\n401(k) program\nPay for Performance program\nGet paid every Friday!","company":"Freshpack","rawCompany":"freshpack","city":"Monticello","state":"WI","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-19T20:06:28.633Z","occupations":[{"code":"17-2112.03","title":"Manufacturing Engineers","slug":"manufacturing-engineers"},{"code":"17-2112.00","title":"Industrial Engineers","slug":"industrial-engineers"},{"code":"17-2199.00","title":"Engineers, All Other","slug":"engineers-all-other"}],"industries":[{"code":"311991","title":"Perishable Prepared Food Manufacturing","slug":"perishable-prepared-food-manufacturing"},{"code":"311513","title":"Cheese Manufacturing","slug":"cheese-manufacturing"},{"code":"311514","title":"Dry, Condensed, and Evaporated Dairy Product Manufacturing","slug":"dry-condensed-and-evaporated-dairy-product-manufacturing"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Process Engineer","description":"Description:\n\nLooking for the opportunity to turn ideas into process improvements that make a real impact?
