The desktop fleet is HP EliteBook and Lenovo ThinkPad hardware imaged to the U.S. Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB), and the ticketing system is Zendesk. An enterprise migration to Windows 11 runs during the contract, and you are the technical lead for its planning, application testing, configuration, and deployment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nTake the incidents nobody else could close: advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and the judgment call on whether an incident is a one-off or the first sign of a system-wide problem\nAdminister Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365: accounts, group policy, permissions, and access controls\nWrite, build, and deploy PowerShell scripts to automate builds, deployments, and routine work across multiple environments\nInstall, update, and patch applications across the enterprise; author and test install scripts; package and integration-test applications\nPlan and deliver the Windows 11 migration, keeping every agency application working under the USGCB desktop baseline\nHarden workstations, monitor threats, and work with the agency security operations team on virus scans, malware remediation, and desktop data recovery\nSupport Microsoft 365 products including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Power Apps, plus mobile device configuration\nMonitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity across LAN and WAN infrastructure\nDocument your work in Zendesk thoroughly enough that another technician or analyst can pick it up without you in the room\nWhat You’ll Need\nA bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or ten years of relevant professional experience in place of the degree\nHands-on system administration in a Microsoft enterprise environment, including Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365\nPowerShell scripting you have written and shipped, not just edited\nEndpoint management and patching experience with Intune, ManageEngine Endpoint Central, or comparable tooling\nExperience serving as the escalation point above Tier 1 and Tier 2 support\nClear written documentation habits\nNice to Have\nA Microsoft role-based certification such as Endpoint Administrator, Azure Administrator, or Microsoft 365 Administrator\nITIL v4 Foundations\nA Windows 10 to Windows 11 enterprise migration you helped deliver\nPrior support to a federal civilian agency, particularly a small one\nExperience supporting assistive technology (the environment includes JAWS, Fusion, Dragon, ZoomText, and Duxbury Braille)\nComfort with a legacy estate alongside the modern stack: the inventory includes Oracle 11G, HP-UX, PowerBuilder, Kofax, and Livelink\nSUSE Linux Enterprise Server administration\nLocation, Schedule, and Logistics\nStandard schedule is an eight-hour day scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
