This position is centered on owning mechanical components and sub-systems from concept through production, driving design decisions, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.This role operates in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and requires hands-on design, prototyping, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams.What You’ll Do:Own mechanical design of one or more battery pack components or sub-systems from concept through product launchCollaborate with systems, electrical, and analysis teams to ensure design requirements are metIdentify design risks and develop prototypes to validate and mitigate issuesEngage with suppliers to define specifications, obtain quotes, and support component developmentCreate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T for complex assembliesSupport hands-on prototype builds and work closely with manufacturing teamsPerform tolerance stack analyses to ensure proper fit and functionalityEnsure proper electrical isolation and environmental durability (thermal, vibration, sealing, etc.)Optimize designs using analytical, numerical, and empirical methodsContribute to technical problem solving and continuous product improvementWhat You Bring:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field2+ years of mechanical design experience (5+ years for Senior level)Experience designing components such as castings, stampings, extrusions, plastics, sealing systems, bus bars, or cooling systemsStrong 3D CAD experience (Onshape or similar CAD tools)Experience working with suppliers and design for manufacturability (DFM)Familiarity with low- to mid-volume manufacturing processesAbility to interpret structural and thermal analysis resultsStrong problem-solving and communication skills in a cross-functional environmentNice to have: hands-on prototype or product launch experience, battery or energy system background, and experience designing for harsh environments (vibration, corrosion, water ingress, thermal)About Us:At Brooksource, relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
