{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"0c3cce276c02f837700b8897","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/0c3cce276c02f837700b8897","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/0c3cce276c02f837700b8897","title":"Material Handler","description":"Description:\nEnsures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nOperates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other lift machinery to move items onto and off trucks, loading docks, or appropriate production areas\nReads and understands the job ticket and other special instructions before beginning the assigned job\nObtains and records accurate counts of finished products, goods, and/or materials to be shipped and for those received\nPacks materials in a manner that will ensure delivery without damage, following job jacket and/or customer packing specifications as needed\nIdentifies contents and number of products using proper labeling methods\nArranges for shipments and communicates required delivery dates to carriers\nSeeks the most cost-effective methods to ship and maintain a current rate list for carriers as needed\nObtains correct receipts from carriers with full information confirming shipment and/or delivery\nKeeps an accurate log of all shipments\nChecks incoming shipments of materials and goods to determine if they are the same as ordered, in quantity, quality, brand, and grade, and reports damaged goods to supervisor\nStores received materials in proper storage areas\nDelivers goods and materials to the proper requisitioning department\nTraces lost or delayed shipments and initiates claims for loss or damage\nChecks the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents\nMaintains good security habits at the dock doors\nPerform other duties as assigned\nRequirements:\n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Hours may vary depending on departmental staffing needs.\nHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)\n1 - 3 years of previous material management experience preferred\nSafely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and any other lift equipment required for the job (following appropriate training)\nFull comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos\nEffective communications skills with all levels within the organization\nAbility to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problems\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form\nMust have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines\nBe organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision\nHas basic computer skills\n\nPhysical Requirements\nRequires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bending\nPushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs\nRequires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination\nRequires near visual acuity\nRequires working around and operating departmental equipment\nMust be able to access and navigate each department in the facility\nRequires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances\n\nMittera is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
