With every loaf, cookie, and pastry, we honor the veterans, military families, and caregivers who walk through our doors, offering them a path to success through learning, community, and empowerment.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Steward who can ensure the cleanliness of all areas of the bakery and assists the kitchen staff and front of house staff when needed.Responsibilities & DutiesThe Steward is responsible for cleaning and organization of all dishes, pots, pans, flatware, drinkware, and any other item(s) required to be cleaned within the bakery.Collect, load, and wash used kitchenware using commercial machinery, 3 sink system, or by hand.Maintain a clean and organized kitchen/dishwashing area.Assist with setting up and breaking down of the cafe for special eventsAssist with various tasks and cleaning duties as needed in the bakery.Remove garbage regularly and sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor.Maintain cleanliness and organization in all storage areas.Maintain a positive and respectful work environment.Responsible for the cleanliness of the front of house, back of house, bathrooms, classroom and offices.Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards.Follow all safety and sanitation policies in accordance with the District of Columbia Health CodeQualificationsClear understanding and enthusiasm for Dog Tag Inc. mission.Good attention to detail.Works well under pressure.Quickly recognize and resolve problems.Must be available for a minimum of one weekend shift.Highly responsible, punctual, and reliable.Requires long periods of standing.Wages and BenefitsMinimum wage of $17.95/hr plus tipsWork up to 40 hours per week, minimum of 32 hours per week when it is slowerFlexibility in hours, depending on special events
