Recreational TherapistAdelphi is seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide services at a residential behavioral health facility in Pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will deliver recreational therapy to Native American adolescents, ages 13 to 17, helping them improve self-esteem, manage chemical dependencies, and develop lifelong recovery skills. The therapist will create individualized treatment plans and facilitate therapeutic activities designed to support these goals.Job Quick Facts:Job ID: GS-NSRTC-01Profession: Recreational TherapistLocation: Pueblo of Acoma, New MexicoFacility Type: Adolescent behavioral health and substance use treatment facilityJob Type: ContractAssignment Length: 1 year (Potential for a long term contract)Shift Schedule: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pmRate: $55/hrRequirements:Bachelor's degree or higher in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation TherapyNational Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)At least 1 year of experience working with youth in clinical or therapeutic setting especially with behavioral health, co-occurring disorders, or trauma-informed care.Responsibilities:Conduct individual assessments of each resident at the time of admission.Use this information to develop an individualized recreation therapy treatment plan.Plan and implement individual and group recreation activities for adolescents at facility using accepted recreational therapy techniques for youth with chemical dependence, emotional and behavioral disturbances.Document in the resident's medical record progress regarding objectives, goals, changes in resident's condition and in recreational treatment plan.Plan, implement and evaluate adventure-based programming which includes camping, fishing, cross country, skiing, hiking, backpacking, etc.Identify and ensure procurement of proper equipment needed to complete planned recreational activities.Ensure the recreation component of the treatment plan adheres to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.Attend and participate in treatment team meetings and treatment plan reviews.Work closely with other facility staff to provide holistic treatment services.
