This role ensures all production lines meet food safety standards before startup and that equipment is built and configured correctly for the scheduled run. This position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, safe chemical handling, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.What You’ll Do Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment and facility areas and re-clean as neededUse ATP swabs and visual inspection to verify sanitation standardsStage and place equipment to match the day’s production line configurationAssemble and build production equipment including continuous freezers, enrobers, conveyors, mix systems, and related componentsClean and sanitize production equipment and tools, including:Manual washing of utensils, cambros, parts, and food contact surfacesOperating and maintaining the dishwasher, including chemical testing and monitoringCompleting CIP (clean-in-place) procedures for tanks, transfer lines, and freezersCleaning depositor lines, tunnel freezers, and surrounding equipment using sprayers, foamers, and manual methodsSafely handle and apply sanitation chemicals including detergents, caustics, quaternary sanitizer, and peracetic acidComplete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sanitation tasks per the master sanitation scheduleRemove waste and maintain overall facility cleanlinessComplete required sanitation and pre-op documentation accuratelyFollow and model Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all timesSupport production as needed during the shift, including working on the line when requiredWho We’re Looking ForReliable team member with strong attendance as production start times depend on this roleDetail-oriented and able to follow food safety procedures closelyComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamAble to safely handle chemicals, tools, and production equipmentAble to stand, walk, lift and move equipment for extended periodsAble to lift up to 50lbs and move large equipment on castersComfortable working in cold environments and around food allergens (dairy, nuts, gluten, latex)Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power toolsAble to communicate, read and write in EnglishHigh school diploma or GED requiredFood manufacturing or sanitation experience preferredWorking EnvironmentThis role is based in a food manufacturing facility and includes:Exposure to common food allergensUse of automated and manual production equipmentUse of sanitation tools, pumps, hoses, and chemical applicatorsPeriodic work in refrigerated or freezer environmentsFrequent standing, lifting, bending, and equipment movementRegular interaction with supervisors, managers, visitors, and contractorsRuby Jewel LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not unlawfully discriminate against employees or applicants for employment based on an individual’s race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
