They will work closely with the Estimating department. The Structural Concrete Estimator will analyze project design and construction documents for all structural related scopes to determine the needs of various projects and to prepare project cost estimates. This position will be fully in-office located at either our Portland, Oregon office or Seattle, Washington office.\n\nSalary Range : $90,000- $130,000 DOE + Incentives\nEssential Responsibilities:\nProvide leadership to all functions within Hoffman Structures to support, develop and enhance overall Safety, Quality and Profitability\nCoordinates and aligns to share in and promote Hoffman Structures unified vision and team goals\nAssists in coordination of delegating estimating workload\nUpdates Estimating Calendar with estimate timelines\nEnsures team members are working off proper and updated documents\nCompletes quantity take offs and back checks work as needed\nFlags constructability items for review with pre-construction team members as necessary\nCoordinates necessary meetings with team members to ensure completeness and submission timelines are met\nPrepares work to be estimated by compiling required drawings, specifications, and related documents (Bluebeam: tools, sessions, smartsheets, etc.)\nReviews project plans & specifications and coordinates with project team to confirm completeness of scope to be estimated\nProvides necessary reports to fulfill project requirements (Beck/Destini)\nSolicit subcontractor/supplier information and pricing\nEncourages, tracks, and manages M/WESB participation\nMaintains detailed list of supplier contacts and most recent pricing\nReviews estimates and progress with team members prior to presenting final bid to H.S.I executive team\nPresents estimates to H.S.I executive team prior to final submission to H.C.C. that include $/CY, $/MH\nSupport and mentorship to new team members\nParticipates in periodic reviews and visits to project sites\nAdvocate Leadership, Innovation, Planning, Communication and Accountability to advance the H.S.I Culture\n\nQualifications:\nProfessional Experience and Education\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Bachelor of Architecture or an equivalent degree or equivalent work experience.\n5 years of construction estimating experience.\nEducation background in materials and methods of construction.\nExperience specifically in commercial, healthcare, industrial, water treatment and/or hi-tech type of projects.\nExperience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method; familiar with CSI specification system for various scopes of work.\nSkills in handling several work activities at once while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions on work in progress.\nTraining in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.\nHighly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to work closely with project owners, architects, engineers, equipment manufacturers, vendors and subcontractors.\nAbility to work closely with trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience, and professionalism are essential to being able to maintain a cooperative attitude through pressure situations.\nLEED accreditation preferred, or someone who is willing to become certified in 18-24 months\nProficient in the following programs: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook) and Bluebeam. Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Microsoft Project and Primavera Project Planner(P6).
