Assess emergency breakdowns by\ndetermining problem and communicating to dispatch.\n\n• Cleans the van including floors, seats, windows, exterior, and disposing of trash. Fuels vehicle.\n\n• Maintains order on the van according to state law and District policy by monitoring student behavior.\n\n• Fills out forms including mileage, and incident/conduct reports and other forms as assigned.\n\n• Performs special assignments including driving for field trips and transporting special needs students requiring\nspecial accommodations.\n\n• Performs other duties as required.\n\nOther Functions\n\n• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the\nwork unit.\n\nJob Requirements: Minimum Qualifications\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Abilities\n\nSKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet\nchanging job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job\ninclude: adhering to safety practices; administering first aid/CPR; performing non violent crisis intervention and\nrestraint techniques; and operating school buses and related equipment.\n\nKNOW LEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read\na variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and analyze\nsituations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily\nperform the functions of the job include: safety practices and procedures; and reading maps.\n\nABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and use job-related\nequipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing\ndefined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a\nwide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem\nsolving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent\ninterpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant. Specific ability based\ncompetencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: being attentive to detail; exercising\ngood judgment; working without immediate supervision; meeting deadlines and schedules; working with constant\ninterruptions.\n\nResponsibility\n\nResponsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods;\nproviding information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from\nother work units may be required to perform the job's functions.
