You will build reliable Java applications, APIs, and platform services that simplify how application teams provision, configure, validate, and operate enterprise hosting platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who writes clean, testable code, understands the operational demands of large-scale server environments, and treats quality, security, maintainability, and production readiness as core engineering responsibilities.\n\nYou will lead by example across analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. You will create modular Java and Spring Boot services, define automated test strategies with QA partners, enforce code-quality standards in CI/CD, review designs and pull requests, resolve defects, and use production feedback to improve reliability. You will also develop Ansible automation where needed to connect these services with application and web server operations.\n\nIn this role, you will:\n\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications and Spring Boot services that support application and web server platform capabilities.\n\nBuild secure, versioned REST APIs for provisioning, configuration, deployment governance, certificate management, validation, and capacity workflows.\n\nApply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, exception handling, concurrency, dependency management, and performance engineering to produce reliable and maintainable code.\n\nCreate comprehensive automated tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, REST Assured, and test containers, covering unit, component, integration, API, regression, and negative scenarios.\n\nPartner with QA engineers to define acceptance criteria, test plans, test data, environment needs, traceability, release validation, and defect-resolution strategies.\n\nIntegrate build, test, security, code coverage, static analysis, and deployment controls into CI/CD pipelines using Maven or Gradle and enterprise delivery tooling.\n\nUse code reviews, quality metrics, observability, root-cause analysis, and production feedback to prevent defects and continuously improve software reliability.\n\nDevelop reusable, idempotent Ansible roles and collections to automate server installation, configuration, JVM tuning, certificate operations, patching, compliance, and policy enforcement.\n\nBuild self-service capabilities that allow development teams to request server instances, deploy applications, configure routing, request certificates, manage JNDI resources, and consume platform metrics.\n\nParticipate in Agile planning, estimation, demonstrations, retrospectives, technical design reviews, release readiness reviews, and production support.\n\nMentor engineers in Java development, automated testing, secure coding, code review, troubleshooting, and modern software engineering practices.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education\n\n4+ years of software engineering experience delivering production Java applications or backend services\n\n4+ years of hands-on development with Core Java and modern Java versions, including object-oriented design, collections, streams, exception handling, concurrency, and common design patterns\n\n4+ years of experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful services, dependency injection, validation, security, and API design\n\nExperience with Maven or Gradle, Git-based workflows, pull requests, peer reviews, branching strategies, semantic versioning, and software release management\n\nExperience integrating automated tests, code coverage, static analysis, security scanning, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines\n\nStrong understanding of the SDLC, Agile delivery, secure coding, clean-code practices, documentation, observability, debugging, root-cause analysis, and production support\n\n4+ years of experience deploying or supporting application and web servers such as Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere Liberty, or NGINX\n\nDesired Qualifications:\n\nWorking knowledge of frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and a modern framework such as Angular or React, including integration with REST APIs and basic UI testing\n\nExperience with test-driven development, behavior-driven development, contract testing, test data management, service virtualization, and performance or resilience testing\n\nExperience with code-quality and security tools such as SonarQube, JaCoCo, Checkstyle, SpotBugs, SAST, dependency scanning, and secrets detection\n\nExperience developing Java services that use JPA or Hibernate, relational databases, messaging platforms, caching, and asynchronous processing\n\nExperience documenting and testing APIs with OpenAPI or Swagger, Postman, and automated API test frameworks\n\nDeep understanding of JVM behavior, memory management, threading, class loading, performance tuning, and application-server internals\n\nExperience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, containerized Java workloads, and hybrid cloud platforms\n\nHands-on experience with observability tools and practices, including structured logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, and service-level indicators\n\nHands-on experience developing Ansible automation for infrastructure provisioning and configuration using roles, collections, inventories, variables, templates, and Ansible Vault\n\nJob Expectations:\n\nThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship\n\nHybrid work schedule\n\nPay Range\n\nReflected is the base pay range offered for this position.
