This role is ideal for someone who thrives in driving automation, improving system reliability, and enabling scalable infrastructure solutions across a complex environment.What You’ll Work OnOwn end-to-end administration of Jenkins, GitLab, Red Hat Satellite, and Ansible Automation Platform, including upgrades, patching, monitoring, and capacity planningDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or equivalent) to support infrastructure automation and developer workflowsManage Red Hat Satellite lifecycle functions (content views, activation keys, errata) to ensure consistent and timely Linux patching across Ubuntu and RHEL environmentsDevelop, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks and roles; administer Automation Platform components such as job templates, workflows, and execution environmentsPartner with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies, audit requirements, and industry best practices, including vulnerability remediation and patch governanceCreate and maintain runbooks, documentation, and training materials; mentor team members on automation and scripting best practicesEvaluate new platform capabilities and version updates, providing recommendations and roadmaps for upgrades and enhancementsDrive operational efficiency through automation, scripting, and continuous improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or DevOps/automation rolesHands-on experience with Ansible or Ansible Automation Platform, including playbook and role development3+ years of experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub, or equivalent)Experience with Red Hat Satellite or similar lifecycle/patch management tools (e.g., SCCM, WSUS, or RMM platforms)Strong Linux systems administration expertise (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) with command-line proficiencyExperience in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation and infrastructure managementStrong communication skills with experience in documentation, runbooks, and cross-functional collaborationPreferred QualificationsRed Hat certifications (RHCE, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation) or similarExperience integrating automation platforms with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira)Background in regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure automationGitLab administration experience (runners, access control, package/registry management)Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)Experience with secrets management and credential governance tools (HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, etc.)Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman)Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, proxies)Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, Proxmox) in mixed OS environmentsLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:  www.abbottbenefits.comFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
