Additionally, the Embedded Software Developer, is responsible for maintaining the Windows (and Linux) Operating System for our in-vehicle solution. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Hardware and Platform.\nJob Description:\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nEmbedded software design and development for Mass transit vehicle.\nDesign, develop, test, document, and maintain project software.\nDesign and develop network protocols best suited for transit application.\nInterface with Intel and Arm Architecture environments, leveraging expertise in PCIe, USB, SATA, I²C, SPI, and other standard interfaces.\nDesign systems with an understanding of Power management, standalone operation, aperiodic communications, and data security.\nParticipate in hardware and software design reviews as well as support product testing and validation.\nInterface with suppliers and customers to resolve component and systems issues.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nExperience in Windows Script/PowerShell\nExperience in secure IoT device implementation and MQTT operation\nExperience in Linux application/middleware development\nExperience in .net development\nExperience with automatic unit testing\nAbility to communicate and work with multiple internal and external customers Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software(s).\nEducation and Experience:\nPost-secondary education in the area of Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education/experience is preferred.\n2+ yrs experience in Embedded Software development in 'C++' language is required.\nUnderstanding of the North American Transit Industry and Agencies is preferred.\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer/laptop.\nAbility to travel up to 10% of the time (including domestic and international), sometimes for extended periods, which may involve sitting during transit and walking at various locations.\nMust be able to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.\nMust be able to handle high utilization of hand and wrist dexterity.\nDisclaimers:\nAll job requirements are subject to possible revision to reflect changes in the position requirements or to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
