Our Workflow platform orchestrates these transactions, ensuring successful provisioning while automatically recovering and rolling back failures when necessary.\r\nToday, this platform processes tens of billions of transactions annually and serves as a foundational dependency across OCI. As cloud adoption accelerates, we're building the next generation of this system to deliver significantly greater scale, performance, resiliency, and multi-tenant capabilities.\r\nThis is a rare opportunity to define the architecture of a foundational cloud service that will shape the future of OCI.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nLead the architectural vision and technical direction for OCI's next-generation workflow orchestration platform.\r\nDesign highly scalable distributed systems capable of supporting billions of high-throughput transactions.\r\nPartner with engineering leaders across Compute, Storage, Networking, and other OCI organizations to build a platform that serves the needs of the broader cloud ecosystem.\r\nDrive architecture decisions around consistency, fault tolerance, transaction management, durability, and performance.\r\nMentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across a rapidly growing organization.\r\nEvaluate emerging technologies while determining where custom platform innovation provides strategic advantage.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nExtensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.\r\nStrong expertise in high-performance backend architecture, distributed transactions, concurrency, and fault-tolerant systems.\r\nExperience building or evolving foundational infrastructure platforms that operate at cloud scale.\r\nDemonstrated ability to influence architecture across multiple engineering teams and organizations.\r\nProven technical leadership on complex, business-critical systems.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience with workflow orchestration platforms or distributed workflow engines.\r\nFamiliarity with write-ahead logging (WAL), storage engines, transaction processing, or database internals.\r\nExperience with high-throughput messaging, event-driven architectures, or distributed coordination systems.\r\nBackground working on hyperscale cloud infrastructure or similarly large-scale distributed platforms.\r\nDisclaimer\r\nCertain U.S. based or U.S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.\r\nRange and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only\r\nUS: Hiring Range in USD from: $169,800 to $355,400 per annum.
