Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones or at completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Responsible for documenting findings, communicating results to engineering staff and making technical design presentations as required. Typically has frequent intra-organizational and customer contact. Provides direction to less experienced designers and support staff.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvides leadership in developing design solutions for assigned structural products and components.\nInteracts with engineering staff on design concepts and progress.\nMay be assigned design oversight of a sizeable portion of a project or program.\nDevelops layouts, sketches, and blueprints and may investigate design factors such as damage tolerance, durability, and structural modeling.\nDetails related structural assemblies, mechanisms, and devices.\nValidates conformity to design standards and specifications and identifies design errors and other deficiencies, and recommends changes.\nProvides documentation, identifies design issues, and makes technical design presentations to engineering staff and customers as required.\nRemains current in CAD techniques and any applicable state of the art engineering design software applications.\nCoordinates and directs the activities of less experienced designers and support staff.\nResponsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.\nExpected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.\nAdditional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.\n\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\n\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires an Associates degree or a certificate from a recognized organization indicating completion of training in ProEngineer, CATIA or IDEAS design software plus thirteen or more years of progressive experience utilizing CAD software with at least five of those years spent utilizing ProEngineer, CATIA, IDEAS or related engineering design software.
