{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"0bb2d32be6373395f9268bec","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/0bb2d32be6373395f9268bec","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/0bb2d32be6373395f9268bec","title":"Manager, AP Processing","description":"Manager, AP Processing\nLocation(s):\nChicago, IL, US, 60654\n\nRWE Americas, LLC\nTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanent\n\nFunctional area: Finance / Controlling\nRemuneration: Exempt\nAs a part of the accounts payable department, the Manager, AP Processing will supervise staff, delegate tasks, and handle any inquiries in the timely manner within a high volume multi business unit environment.\nRole Responsibilities:\nOversee daily SAP transactions processing and ensure accuracy\nManage the AP staff, including work allocation, deadline management, recruitment, and performance appraisals\nManage the period end activities to meet the required deadlines, including AP accruals, and reconciliations\nManage vendor and internal customer communications, queries and issues effectively while balancing priorities of customer service, process compliance, and controls\nContinually identify and implement process improvements\nApplies comprehensive knowledge of AP systems (e.g., SAP), month-end close, and vendor management\nApplies expertise to oversee team execution, ensuring compliance and accuracy\nOversees resolution of complex AP issues, process gaps, and exception management\nDrives deadline-sensitive initiatives like accruals and reconciliations\nBuilds relationships with vendors, Procurement, and Controlling\nCommunicates effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues and align on expectations\nDirectly manages AP staff\nAllocates work, sets priorities, and provides coaching, feedback, and development opportunities\nEnsures team meets deadlines\nJob Requirements and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other related discipline preferred\nExperienced knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures relating to accounts payable\nMinimum 5 years in accounting or finance functions, with AP experience required\nPrior people management preferred\nProven ability to manage processes and meet deadlines\nStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills\nCustomer service orientation\nStrong organizational and time management skills\nSAP experience is strongly preferred\nOversee in setting up new or existing utilities accounts on autopayment\nReview month end close activities including AP accruals, resolving Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt discrepancies, etc\nOversee new vendor set up in SAP\nMaintains process documentations\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nStrong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships\nExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams\nStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables\nMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities\nMust be able to handle all aspects of Accounts Payable\nGeneral knowledge of financial and accounting business practices\nDemonstrated ability in multi-tasking and interacting with other departments to accomplish goals\nMust be flexible, detail oriented, and possess good analytical skills\nThis position is an office-based role with limited travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations\nMust be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
